Finding a nice watering hole in New Mexico is one of the great joys in my life at this time.
You can only imagine my surprise upon exploring Las Vegas, NM for the first time and discovering Storrie Lake, a ten minute drive from Old Town Plaza and the Historic Plaza Hotel.
While very small in size, the calming clean waters and private serenity which comes along with an off-the-beaten path beach more than made up for it. Storrie Lake is also walkable as a person in average health can easily stroll the entire premises (maybe two miles total) without breaking a sweat (I will attempt this on visit two).
There were only a handful of cars parked near the shore line and the only sounds I observed were from birds and seagulls flying overhead. One inch whispering waves completed this tranquil journey.
I was able to capture some shots with my new Canon EOS M6 Mark II camera.
