Browsing through business websites, it dawned on me, a majority of websites and whole industries in general are still stuck in the green flashing font, monochromatic abysmal black screens and desktop computers that weigh about the same as cinder blocks days of digital marketing technology.
Searching through the statistics on new clients, it’s certainly not a budget crises causing some companies to remain stuck in the dark days of coding and primitive database design as surprisingly, many business leaders have archaic sites but eventually, I hope, this will change. It makes me cringe to think of the money being washed down the drain and wasted hours of genius energy spent merely re-creating the well-oiled, fluidly spinning wheel of technology, digital design and simply put, progress in general.
The trend in digital marketing, without a doubt, is expansion across platforms, streamlined processes, speed and efficiency which can be simply summed up into two words: digital automation. It’s not enough to get your business message out to simply one or even two platforms, it is imperative to reach as many viewers as possible with the best content possible through as many channels as possible in as little time as possible. Digital marketing time and energy should be spent on creating and competing with new and innovative content, not on process design and configuration because sadly, someone and likely several innovators have beat you to it.
